Fire Prevention & Safety Officer
About the Position: Incumbents are assigned responsibilities, involving the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security at Griffin Memorial Hospital.
Typical work duties may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards; providing assistance to employees or visitors; directing traffic; and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others.
Job Type/Salary:
- This is a Full-time shift position
- 2 positions available
- Opening 1: 6:30am to 5pm
- Opening 2: 1:00pm to 11:30pm
- Annual Salary:
- Level I: $14.18/hourly
- Level II: $15.14/hourly
- This position is Non-Exempt

Level I: No requisite education and experience are required for consideration.
Level II: Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course, and 2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work
Special Requirements:
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of lifting/carrying 60 pounds occasionally, and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.
- Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is an ODMHSAS treatment center serving all 77 counties in Oklahoma. We specialize in community crisis stabilization and residential treatment for individuals facing substance abuse, co-occurring mental health disorders, and trauma-related conditions.
