About the Position:
Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is currently hiring Mental Health Technicians to support individuals receiving behavioral health treatment. In this vital role, you'll provide non-professional, direct and indirect care, helping ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include:

Minimum Qualifications:
Griffin Memorial Hospital, located in Norman, OK, is a 120-bed acute psychiatric facility operated by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS). GMH provides inpatient treatment for adults aged 18+ with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. We proudly serve all 77 counties across Oklahoma.

- Participating in de-escalation and safety-related activities
- Acting as a positive role model and supporting healthy decision-making
- Assisting with recreational and therapeutic programming
- Transporting residents to and from medical appointments
- Ensuring daily schedules and routines are followed
- Shift Availability: All shifts available
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
- Pay Rate: $24.00/hour (MHT I)
- Shift Differentials: Additional pay for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Hours: Up to 30 hours per week / maximum of 999 hours per year

Minimum Qualifications:
- No previous experience or education required for MHT I
- Upon a conditional job offer, applicants must:
- Pass a physical exam
- Be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Be able to push/pull up to 25 pounds of force
- This is a safety-sensitive position
- Applicants must pass a drug and alcohol screening (urinalysis) before appointment
