The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is the State’s statutory authority responsible for prevention, treatment and recovery from mental illness, substance abuse and addictive disorders. In addition, ODMHSAS provides prevention services at the state and local levels, in partnership with area health providers, schools, law enforcement, veteran’s groups and other community stakeholders.  ODMHSAS manages the state’s behavioral health Medicaid services, and has rule-making responsibility for specific statutory certification processes (certifying approximately 3,300 treatment providers, organizations and individuals, throughout the state).

About the Position: Northwest Center for Behavioral Health is looking for a Contract Pharmacist at our inpatient facility in Fort Supply!
Examples of typical work duties include:

Dispensing drugs, medications, narcotics, and other pharmaceutical supplies requisitioned by doctors; compounding individual prescriptions as necessary; maintaining prescriptions files.
Potentially periodically visiting wards to ascertain that emergency stock supplies are adequately stored and replenished supplies as necessary; checks patient charts for possible overdoses, drug interactions, side effects and proper paperwork; makes reports accordingly.
Rejecting prescriptions containing dosage believed excessive; consulting with physician on revision of prescriptions; may require physician's release of responsibility on overdoses.
Keeping abreast of current developments and literature; advising physicians of drugs and medications available and the use of alternate drugs.

Job Type/Salary:

This is a part-time, contract position
- Work schedule is subject to availability and/or experience
Typical pharmacy hours:
- Weekdays: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Weekends and Holidays: On-Call
Pay is $60 per hour; $65 per hour on holidays
On-Call pay $1 / Hour - 2 hour minimum if called in.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Possession of a valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Oklahoma.
