About the Position:
Here at the Oklahoma Forensic Center the Nursing department is looking for a Consumer Recovery Specialist that will work as a part of the treatment team by developing and maintaining a supportive relationship with consumers in order to address strengths, goals and barriers to recovery. This includes performing duties such as monitoring recovery progress toward treatment goals, de-escalation activities, participation in recovery, wellness and social skills groups and developing and managing other group activities.

Hourly payrate is $19.59/hr
$1.00/hr inpatient differential; $0.50/hr for 2nd & 3rd shifts; $0.75/hr when working
weekends and holidays; $2.00/hr CNA certification as a Long Term Care Aide,
Residential Care Aide, or Developmentally Disabled Direct Care.
Primary Working Hours are 2:30pm-11:00pm

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Associate’s Degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting two years of relevant experience for the required Associate’s degree.
Special Requirements:
Preference may be given for participation in DMHSAS-sponsored Consumer Recovery Specialist certificate program.
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.

About us:
Come grow with us! The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) located in Vinita, OK is a 24 hour/365 day secure inpatient forensic facility with a forensic step-down unit and provides jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma. Currently, OFC has 216 beds for consumers in the main facility who have been found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. The transitions unit across the street is a secure 52 bed forensic step-down unit. OFC is expanding with construction scheduled to be completed in June 2026 adding an additional 84 beds to the main facility. When completed, OFC will have a total of 300 beds to house consumers in the main facility along with the 52 bed step-down unit.
Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Pre-placement Testing: Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
