 About us:     

Come grow with us!  The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) located in Vinita, OK is a 24 hour/365 day secure inpatient forensic facility that provides jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma.  Currently, OFC has 268 beds for consumers who have been found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.  OFC is expanding with construction scheduled to be completed in June 2025 adding an additional 84 beds.  When completed, OFC will have a total of 352 beds to house consumers.  

About the Position:  

Here at the Oklahoma Forensic Center the Laundry Department is looking for a Linen and Clothing Specialist to perform tasks involving laundry work, sewing, alterations, and mending at a state facility. This includes sorting, washing and maintaining clothing, linens and draperies.    

Job Type/Salary:   

Open/Close dates: 3/25/2025-until filled  

Full-time  

Hourly payrate: Level I- $13.70/hr, Level II-$14.66/hr  

Primary Working Hours are: 5:00am-1:30pm  

FLSA Status: Non Exempt  

Primary Work Location/Department:  Oklahoma Forensic Center, Vinita, Ok/Laundry

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:  

Level I- No experience required  

Level II- Education and experience requirements at this level consist of six months of experience in a commercial or institutional laundry, or commercial experience in the operation of a sewing machine, pattern making or mending garments.  

  

Special Requirements:  

Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.  

Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 40 pounds, 10 pounds frequently and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.
