The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is the State’s statutory authority responsible for prevention, treatment and recovery from mental illness, substance abuse and addictive disorders. In addition, ODMHSAS provides prevention services at the state and local levels, in partnership with area health providers, schools, law enforcement, veteran’s groups and other community stakeholders.  ODMHSAS manages the state’s behavioral health Medicaid services, and has rule-making responsibility for specific statutory certification processes (certifying approximately 3,300 treatment providers, organizations and individuals, throughout the state).

Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center (JTCMHC) in Lawton, OK is seeking a Therapist to provide mental health services to adults and offer administrative and clinical supervision to a treatment team within our Adult Outpatient and Specialty Court Departments. As a Therapist at JTCMHC, you will be responsible for treatment planning, progress documentation, and overseeing service delivery for a variety of clients. You’ll have the chance to grow in your profession with robust training opportunities and receive support in developing your leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery: Provide mental health services to adults, including treatment planning, assessments, and psychotherapy.
Supervision: Offer both administrative and clinical supervision to the treatment team, ensuring high-quality care.
Progress Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely progress documentation in accordance with agency policies.
Training: Take part in training opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge, including the use of evidence-based interventions and assessment tools.
Leadership: Demonstrate leadership abilities, including mentoring and guiding the treatment team in best practices and client care.

What We’re Looking For:

Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or similar credentials), or someone working under approved supervision for licensure.
Strong assessment skills and experience in developing and implementing treatment plans.

Additional Compensation: Along with our great benefits, we also offer additional compensation for working outside of normal business hours!

Evening – extra $3.75 hr.
Nights – extra $6.00 hr.
Weekends – extra $9.00 hr.
Holidays– extra $3.00 hr.

On Call: Receive $1.00 per hour when on call.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field; and
Must be actively and regularly receiving board approved supervision OR
Must be a practitioner with a license to practice in the state issued by one of the following licensure boards: Psychology, Social Work (clinical specialty only); Professional Counselor; Marriage Family Therapist; Behavioral Practitioner; or Alcohol and Drug Counselor (Licensed Psychologist, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LBP, LADC, LADC/MH)

Special Requirements:

Willing to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with position, e.g., attend training, etc. Must maintain a valid driver’s license; and
This position requires participation in on-call rotation unless exempted by the Executive Director.
Some positions may provide preference to candidates meeting Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) status as defined in Title 43A 1-103(11).
Preference is given to licensed behavioral health professionals.

About us: Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center in Lawton, OK is a community-based center with a primary focus on mental health and substance abuse treatment. The inpatient and outpatient services they provide include special groups and programs for adolescents, persons with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, seniors and older adults, women, men, and criminal justice groups.
