Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center (JTCMHC) in Lawton, OK is looking for a dedicated Employee Trainer to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of inpatient employee training to ensure our staff is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to provide excellent care and support.

As an Employee Trainer, you will help educate and mentor new staff members, providing them with the tools to succeed in their roles while promoting a culture of professionalism and respect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Delivery: Conduct training on Therapeutic Options, CPR, First Aid, new employee orientation topics, and other required training programs.
  • Data Management: Organize, collect, and analyze training data to track progress and effectiveness.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Serve as a coach, trainer, and mentor to direct care staff, providing guidance on professional conduct and behavioral expectations.
  • Support Beyond the 9-5: Flexibility to offer training and support during evenings and weekends as needed, ensuring all direct care staff are trained and confident in their roles.
  • Collaborative Support: At times, assist with providing support to staff and consumers on the units and during off-campus consumer appointments.

  • Organizational skills: Ability to organize and manage multiple training initiatives and analyze training data for improvement.
  • A professional demeanor, with the ability to maintain boundaries and authority on employee conduct.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules, including the possibility of evening and weekend responsibilities.

Job Type/Salary:

  • This is a full-time, shift-position. Shifts are 8 hours in duration.

  • Annual Salary is $37,627.20/yr $18.09/hr plus shift differentials for working on a unit and overnights.

  • Primary Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 pm - 4:30 am

  • The FLSA Status is Non-Exempt for this Position. 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting four (4) years of relevant experience for the required education and certified as a Consumer Recovery Specialist.

Special Requirements:

  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.

  • Willing to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with position, e.g., attend training etc. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY.
