The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is the State’s statutory authority responsible for prevention, treatment and recovery from mental illness, substance abuse and addictive disorders. In addition, ODMHSAS provides prevention services at the state and local levels, in partnership with area health providers, schools, law enforcement, veteran’s groups and other community stakeholders.  ODMHSAS manages the state’s behavioral health Medicaid services, and has rule-making responsibility for specific statutory certification processes (certifying approximately 3,300 treatment providers, organizations and individuals, throughout the state).

Central Oklahoma Community Mental Health Center (COCMHC), Norman, OK is currently recruiting for Licensed Behavioral Health Professionals (Children & Family) to join their facility to support children and teens ages 3 to 17 years and their caregivers, using evidence-based approaches such as CBT and parent-management training for the duration of their care plan, coordinate care with primary care providers, schools, and others relevant to youth care, complete thorough clinical documentation within COCMHC and DMH’s standard of ethical care, Complete required trainings and stay up-to-date with COCMHC and DMH’s standards of care, tools, policies and procedures.

Salary Range:
- Licensed: $70,000.00+ (plus benefits)!
- Under Supervision: $65,000.00+ (plus benefits)!

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Licensed: Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or closely related field; and must be a practitioner with a license to practice in the state issued by one of the following licensure boards: Psychology; Social Work (clinical specialty only); Professional Counselor; Marriage and Family Therapist; Behavioral Practitioner; or Alcohol and Drug Counselor. (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LBP, LADC, LADC/MH)
Under Supervision: Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field; and must be actively and regularly receiving board approved supervision, and extended supervision by a fully licensed clinician if board's supervision requirement is met by the individual is not yet licensed, to become licensed by one of the following licensure boards: Psychology; Social Work (clinical specialty only); Professional Counselor; Marriage and Family Therapist; Behavioral Practitioner; or Alcohol and Drug Counselor. About this Facility: COCMHC was opened in 1968 and was the nation’s first community mental health center. It was funded through a federal grant program that has resulted in similar facilities throughout the country. Built on the premise that people suffering from mental illnesses would be better served in the community as opposed to an institution, the center has played a pivotal role in restoring the lives of countless area residents. COCMHC was awarded a CARF Three-Year Accreditation for the following programs: PACT (Program of Assertive Community Treatment), Evaluation and Referral, Adult Outpatient, Team Green PSR (Psychiatric Rehabilitation), Systems of Care and Transitional Services, and Child and Family Services. COCMHC is located in Norman, Oklahoma and employs approximately 95 individuals from Norman and surrounding communities.
