About the Position:

Under administration of the Executive Director, the Director of Special Services plans, organizes and supervises service delivery for adults who are inpatients of this 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital. The position may provide administrative supervision and direction for one or more units within the hospital.

This position will:

· Plan, organize and evaluate hospital programs and services. The position’s key assignments will include reducing workplace violence, promoting a culture of safety, developing and implementing a coaching plan for Therapeutic Options, and championing trauma-informed services.

· Prioritize and solve problems, analyze data, prepare & distribute reports and plans

· Consult with managers and supervisors on personnel and administrative problems.

· Research and develop program and policy changes.

· Oversee administration of forms and records to ensure compliance with ODMHSAS, state, federal and accreditation requirements.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type/Salary:

· Application Period: 03/01/2024 or until filled

· Full-time

· Annual Salary is $68,000yr/$32.69hr

· Primary Working Hours are M-F; 8-5

· FLSA Status: Exempt

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

Knowledge of state, federal and accrediting-agency requirements relating to health and safety of the hospital. Knowledge of quality assurance requirements and audit/survey procedures. Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing, including writing technical reports; to use creative problem-solving techniques and methods. Skills in organizing and managing the work of others and evaluating their performance; in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with hospital staff, ODMHSAS staff, the community, and survey and accrediting agency representatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of the curriculum requirements for a master's degree in social work, nursing or a related mental health field, public health administration, business or public administration or related degree and five (5) years professional managerial experience in mental health services, two (2) of which must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity: Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

NOTE: No substitution will be allowed for the required administrative supervisory experience.

Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma. GMH is a teaching hospital, and has administered a psychiatric residency program since 1952, training hundreds of physicians to specialize in neurology and psychiatry. Additionally, GMH serves as a clinical rotation site for students from numerous medical and nursing schools. At 120 beds, GMH is the largest of the ODMHSAS facilities providing acute inpatient psychiatric hospital treatment for adults.
