The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is the State’s statutory authority responsible for prevention, treatment and recovery from mental illness, substance abuse and addictive disorders. In addition, ODMHSAS provides prevention services at the state and local levels, in partnership with area health providers, schools, law enforcement, veteran’s groups and other community stakeholders.  ODMHSAS manages the state’s behavioral health Medicaid services, and has rule-making responsibility for specific statutory certification processes (certifying approximately 3,300 treatment providers, organizations and individuals, throughout the state).

Norhtwest Center for Behavioral Health (NCBH) is currently recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician at our pharmacy located in Fort Supply. The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in filling prescriptions and dispensing drugs. The incumbent is responsible for inventory control, maintaining various registries, interpreting physician's orders and is a liaison with others within the organization.

Typical functions performed include the following:

Distributes filled and labeled prescriptions
Cleans and maintains pharmaceutical equipment
Maintains licensures, required pharmacy documentation, and filing systems as required according to agency policies, federal and state laws and regulations, and other governing entities
Ensures inventory control standards are maintained according to the State Board of Pharmacy regulations
This includes ensuring drug supplies are used according to dates; removal of outdated supplies from stock; requisitioning supplies; receiving and completing inventory reports for requisitioned medical and surgical supplies; reconciliation of medications; and checking incoming supplies for dates, dosage and conformance with requisition

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Three years of experience as a pharmacy clerk and possession of a pharmacy technician permit issued by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy and/or other recognized pharmacy technician certification board as required by the hiring entity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting the completion of thirty semester hours of college course work for each year of the required experience.
