The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is the State’s statutory authority responsible for prevention, treatment and recovery from mental illness, substance abuse and addictive disorders. In addition, ODMHSAS provides prevention services at the state and local levels, in partnership with area health providers, schools, law enforcement, veteran’s groups and other community stakeholders.  ODMHSAS manages the state’s behavioral health Medicaid services, and has rule-making responsibility for specific statutory certification processes (certifying approximately 3,300 treatment providers, organizations and individuals, throughout the state).

Reimbursement Accounts Receivable Specialist

This position will be in Norman, OK and will provide support to the Central Oklahoma Community Mental Health Center. The individual selected for this position will be assigned responsibilities related to managing the billing/reimbursement process. This includes researching and reviewing claims and other information identifying possible third-party responsibilities and initiating appropriate action to recover funds paid for various medical expenses and other costs. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Two years of technical experience which included the processing and/or payment of insurance claims or accounts receivable; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting thirty semester hours of college for one year only of the required experience.

About this Facility: COCMHC was opened in 1968 and was the nation’s first community mental health center. It was funded through a federal grant program that has resulted in similar facilities throughout the country. Built on the premise that people suffering from mental illnesses would be better served in the community as opposed to an institution, the center has played a pivotal role in restoring the lives of countless area residents. COCMHC was awarded a CARF Three-Year Accreditation for the following programs: PACT (Program of Assertive Community Treatment), Evaluation and Referral, Adult Outpatient, Team Green PSR (Psychiatric Rehabilitation), Systems of Care and Transitional Services, and Child and Family Services. COCMHC is located in Norman, Oklahoma and employs approximately 95 individuals from Norman and surrounding communities.
