Northwest Center for Behavioral Health (NCBH) in Enid, OK is seeking a dedicated individual to provide family training and support services in our outpatient office.

A Family Peer is an individual who has lived experience as a caregiver of a child, youth or young adult who has mental health or behavioral health challenges. The incumbent will be certified by ODMHSAS to offer family peer support services. Family Peers use their lived experience to ensure engagement and active participation of the family throughout the treatment process and assist family members in developing knowledge and skills to promote their family member's recovery.

Family Training and Support service provides the training an support necessary to ensure active participation of the family or consumer in the service planning process

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guided implementation, support and reinforcement of skills learned throughout the treatment process
  • May provide training to the family members to increase their ability to provide a safe and supportive environment in the home and community
  • Assist the consumer or family in the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary to understand and address the specific needs of the child in relation to their mental illness and treatment
  • Development and enhancement of the families specific problem-solving skills, coping mechanisms and strategies for symptom/behavior management
  • Assistance in understanding crisis plans and plan of care process

Job Type/Salary:

  • Announcement Period: 5/2/2025 - 5/19/2025
  • Full-Time
  • Starting Salary is $30,000 / $14.23!
  • ODMHSAS paid training for certification - salary increases to $34,500 / $16.59 once certified!
  • Full compensation range of $44,000 to $57,000 includes base salary, retirement and State paid benefit allowance to help pay for your benefit elections! (Based on the number of covered dependents and additional years of service and certification!
  • Non-exempt position

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED, Demonstrate participation in consumer advocacy or personal knowledge in mental health recovery. Has the ability to become a Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license

About Us: Northwest Center for Behavior Health is a community-based center with a primary focus on mental health and substance abuse treatment. The inpatient and outpatient services provided include special groups and programs for adolescents, persons with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, seniors and older adults, women, men, and criminal justice groups.
